Claire is an art therapist and mental health social worker who has had the privilege of working with children, young people, adults and families for over 35 years.

Art therapy can take many forms and Claire can help you find a form of art-making which works for you. Luckily, art therapy does not require clients to have any art skills. It can be fun, relaxing and surprisingly less anxiety-provoking than verbal therapy, once you get over the barrier of thinking ‘but I’m not an artist…’

Claire believes that regardless of our specific training as therapists, the relationship and trust we build with our clients is the key to long-lasting progress and growth. Art therapy is not for everyone, and Claire is also comfortable with a purely verbal approach, (i.e. talk therapy). Claire tailors her approach to meet individual needs, and regularly seeks feedback. As a ‘second generation’ Art Therapist (her dad was also an art therapist) and Mental Health Social Worker, Claire has worked with individuals and groups in hospitals in London and Brisbane, in community-based services, and in private practice.
